We met up with him at PRI and we knew right then we had to have him on. Our guest today is the very cordial and internationally popular William Tharpe-NHRA Director of Division 3. On a wide ranging interview, topics discussed today included: Gatornationals, NHRA return to Michigan and the long way back, Milan Dragway, signing autographs, sportsman racing, a class for everybody, safety for all, what does it take to be a NHRA track, the NHRA brand, street racing, how NHRA helps tracks and track owner become successful, Camping World and Lucas Oil series, national events, crowds size, part shortages, Canada and Sweden, driving all over to the NHRA tracks and the ride to Atlanta, unsafe tracks, new tracks being built, Houston, sound nuisance, tracks being a good neighbor in their community, what the NHRA is doing to excite the "younger crowd", Junior Street, the new NHRA EV Class, Mr. Tharpe extended office hours, "sleep is overrated", the customer interaction, coming up to Milan this season, making those good food choices, car washes and so much more.
