We noticed at 5 foot 2 inch, it would be hard to put her full last name on a baseball jersey, thankfully she chose drag racing instead. It is always a pleasure to welcome back the woman that any speed past 150mph is a walk in the park for, Sue Christophersen of the Suzie Q nostalgia funny car. We had to get her back as last time she was on "The 5:15", we just got done with her first half of her racing career and today Sue talks about racing her rear engine dragster, how she got started in nostalgia funny cars, how they picked the '57 Chevy body style, the wild ride piloting a funny car, how it is like to be racing with others in the nostalgia funny car circle, interacting with her fans, the importance of putting on a good show, all this and so much more! Sue is really a delight to have on with us and is welcomed back any time she wants...

We are not sure what runs faster, Steve Timoszyk or his Detroit Tiger Nostalgia Funny Car. A highly interesting man that wears many hats, we got a chance to have Steve pull the chute for a few minutes to talk with us about how he started in racing, how his extended family helps out with his racing career, his work at Milan Dragway, his driving style, all things nostalgia funny car class, the big Nostalgia Nationals show at Milan and so much more. We find Mr. Timoszyk one of those refreshing gents that we love to work with. Got a question, he will get you an answer immediately. A problem solver extraordinaire -yet charismatic- as we think you will find as you listen this podcast.

Ok, feel like getting married? Check. Feel like going full throttle on your honeymoon? Sure. Feel like becoming a World's Record Holder at Bonneville? Can do. How about moving on to driving a '57 Chevy Funny Car around the states to up the stakes? Box checked. The more that we talked to our guest Sue Christophersen today, the more doors that we found that we had to open. Every one of her stories launches three more stories, one better than the last. What a fascinating life this woman has had in racing and she shares some of those with us here today. We ran out of time before we could get to her time running the "Susie Q" funny car, so we booked her right away to have her back on with us. What a story!

Tied with four appearances as the most times a guest has been invited back with us on "THE 5:15 SHOW" Karri Anne Beebe from Beebe Motorsports is with us tonight. We were invited to hang out with her race team at Milan Dragway to see what goes on during a typical day of racing. That is what is discussed on today's show along with so much more. Don't worry folks, she is already scheduled to be on with us again. She is a very unique guest that tells it like it is!

There is something starting to break loose in drag racing and we are excited about it!
We have always looked at EV cars as the wave of the future, yet there wasn't a lot of information to find out there or even someone with knowledge about the subject.
That all changed August 8th on our "THE 5:15 SHOW" when we had Al Thomas from NEDRA (National Electric Drag Racing Association). To say the least, Mr. Thomas not only is top in his class of knowledge on the subject, but his enthusiasm about EV drag cars/racing is catchy. We are going to have Mr. Thomas back because one hour was NOT long enough to get through all the questions that we have about the emerging EV drag racing scene. We are looking forward to that day...

Attention Hollywood producers, here's a hot tip for a new movie. A decorated Navy vet who comes home to find the sport of drag racing is not how it should be and after being frowned upon at a race for not driving a big money or trendy car/ he doesn't whimper but instead goes out and resurrects one of the classic leagues in drag racing and his incredible uphill campaign to get it rolling again. Our guest tonight is Mr. Dallas Brown from the American Hot Rod Association. He is that guy. Not a stuff shirt desk jockey but a racer himself, Mr. Brown brought back everything AHRA and is spreading the word about his vision for the association. Frankly, Mr. Brown's enthusiasm for drag racing and the AHRA is catchy. While not crazy about the name, we think that the AHRA"Econo-Comp Class" may very well be one of the freshest and more exciting classes to be formed for drag racing in a very long time. Great for drivers and outstanding for the fans. It's innovative thinking like this that should propel the AHRA back into the mainstream of the sport. Mr. Brown talks today about how the AHRA is not only designed for sportsman classes, but for everyone including fans too. We will have Mr. Brown back with us again. A fascinating interview.
